Jessica Lang, a Technology Business Analyst, works from home 1.5 days per week.
Between the birth of her child and a husband who has started up a business, Jessica became anxious about returning to work full time. Further adding to the pressure was the difficulty obtaining childcare. With a supportive line manager, Jessica negotiated to work from home 1.5 days per week and successfully transformed the way she worked.
“Because we could only get childcare for three days a week, working flexibly became a necessity. ANZ’s flexibility enables my family to function economically, to stay in Melbourne, and most importantly, it enables me to devote the time to ensure that our son grows up loved and confident.
I forecast and plan my work in advance and block my time on the days I work from home. I work before he wakes, during his nap times, remain in touch with the office while he is awake, and continue working after his bedtime”.
