We have over 48,000 employees around the world.
Our people strategy focuses on building the ‘best connected, most respected people in banking’. Having a diverse, engaged and inclusive workforce is a key driver of business performance and a critical foundation for our super regional strategy.
In 2012, women made up about 55% of our workforce and 38% of all management roles. Women represented 24% of senior executives, 28% of senior managers and 40% of managers.
Developing a strong pipeline of senior female leaders is a priority. We aim to achieve gender balance in our recruitment, learning and talent programs and provide accelerated development opportunities for high potential women to gain a breadth and depth of experience in key banking roles necessary for future careers as senior leaders in the industry.
Women represent 44% of participants in our ‘Generalist Banker’ accelerated development program; 45% of our 2012 graduate intake; and 46% of participants in our Leadership Pathway development programs.
