Amy Auster is the Head of Foreign Exchange and International Economics Research at ANZ. Her team is responsible for the international economic views and forecasts of the ANZ Bank and for global foreign exchange forecasts as well as trade and investment strategies for ANZ and its clients.

Amy is a member of the ANZ Private Bank Regional Investment Committee and within ANZ is often called upon to participate in Asset and Liability Committees as well as in Risk Committee meetings. Externally, she meets regularly with ANZ clients to discuss fundamental views and investment strategies and is often interviewed by local and international media. Recent seminar topics have covered the impact of the global financial crisis on Australia; the long-term outlook for the Australian and US dollars; the implications of the growth of sovereign wealth funds; the limits of “decoupling” and the continued development of Asia’s capital markets.

Before joining ANZ in 2005, Amy worked as an economist and fixed income strategist with Chase Securities, Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan in New York. Amy has an Honours Degree in Arts from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance from Columbia University in New York.
