To open an ANZ Term Deposit, you must:

  • be 12 years of age or over
  • be an Australian resident, with an Australian address - who can complete the ANZ Customer Identification Process in Australia upon opening the account or be an existing ANZ customer
  • make a minimum deposit of $5,0002.

If you are 60 years or over you can also access bonus interest rates of up to 0.25% when you open an ANZ Term Deposit. 

To apply for an ANZ Term Deposit with bonus interest, visit your nearest ANZ branch and present your Seniors Concession Card.

Fees and charges

If you decide to withdraw all or part of your ANZ Term Deposit prior to maturity a $30 fee will be payable. ANZ will be entitled to reduce the interest rate payable on the ANZ Term Deposit when there is an early withdrawal.

1. This is a deposit product offered by ANZ. Deposits with ANZ of up to and including A$1 million in aggregate will continue to be automatically guaranteed by the Federal Government without charge. The $1 million fee-free guarantee threshold is calculated on the total deposits held in one or multiple ANZ accounts by each ‘legal entity’. For deposits of more than A$1 million, we will offer customers the ability to opt-in to receive the benefit of the guarantee for a monthly fee of 0.7%pa. This is the fee we will be charged directly by the Federal Government as an AA rated bank. 2. A minimum investment of $5000 is required and interest payable at maturity.

3. Senior Card holders can earn bonus interest of 0.25% p.a. on ANZ Term Deposit investments of $5,000 up to $100,000 with interest payable at maturity. Bonus interest offer is subject to change and is not available in conjunction with any other offer. To open an ANZ Term Deposit with bonus interest, visit your nearest ANZ branch and present your Seniors Concession Card.
