Find out what your potential investment returns could be based on an initial deposit and regular contributions.

Assumptions
  • Growth rate
The default rate of 10% per annum is based on the average returns of the S&P/ASX 200 Index over the last 20 years (to 30 September 2010). This assumption is considered reasonable based on historical data and future expectations. The growth rate includes both capital and income growth assumptions. You can adjust this default growth rate if you choose.
  • Length of Month
Months are of equal length. However given some months are longer than others interest accrued will vary depending upon the month.
  • Number of Weeks/Fortnights in a Year
One year is assumed to contain exactly 52 weeks or 26 fortnights. Thus each year has 364 days.
  • Compounding Frequencies
The calculator assumes both deposits and any interest crediting is performed at the same time/frequency. The frequency can be changed by the user.
  • Rounding
The calculator uses the unrounded payment to derive the amount of interest accrued over the full term of the deposit, however, institutions round repayments to the nearest cent. Unrounded payments provide for constant line within the graph.
Important information

The results shown in this simulator are an illustration only and are not a prediction or estimate of the actual returns (if any) you can achieve or the investment's value at any time. The value of an ANZ Online Investment can rise and fall over time.

Past performance is not indicative of future performance. This simulator does not take into account your personal objectives, financial situation or needs and is not intended to be relied on for the purposes of making a decision in relation to the ANZ Online Investment Account.

ANZ strongly recommends that you seek independent and professional advice and read the ANZ Online Investment Account Product Disclosure Statement before making any financial decision, including deciding to acquire or hold the ANZ Online Investment Account.

The performance of an investment in the ANZ Online Investment Account is not guaranteed and can be volatile, particularly in the short term. Your investment in the product is subject to a range of investment risks. They include possible delays in the repayment of withdrawals from your investment and loss of income and principal invested.

The ANZ Online Investment Account generates a return for you, excluding the effects of fees and charges, based on the performance of the 200 biggest publicly listed companies on the Australian share market S&P/ASX200 Index. There are two ways the account delivers potential returns:

Investment income

ANZ uses investment income (typically dividends) generated by your investment to purchase more units in the fund (after fees). This can typically increase the size of your investment in the ANZ Online Investment Account (i.e. units held).

Investment growth

As share prices rise and fall, so too will the value of your investment. Whilst investment income described above is used to increase the size of your investment (ie. units held), the rises and falls in the share prices of the ASX200 companies will determine the value of your investment (i.e. unit price).
