ANZ has used the AA1000 Accountability Principles Standard (AA1000APS – 2008) in the preparation of our 2012 report. Corporate Citizenship has provided an external assurance statement in keeping with the International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE 3000) and the Accountability Assurance Standard (AA1000AS – 2008).

Environmental Data
SGS Australia was commissioned to conduct an independent assurance of the environmental data on the ANZ website. Assurance was provided using the following protocols from the GRI guidelines, AA1000 Assurance Standard and ISAE3000. This included a combination of interviews with relevant employees in Australia, New Zealand and India as well as an evaluation of the data collection processes and the data itself. Validation with external bodies was undertaken where relevant.
As part of our Carbon Neutral commitment ANZ has sought to achieve ISO14064 accreditation for the compilation of our Greenhouse Gas Inventory. SGS have provided the following assurance statements in recognition of our approach:
