How we help to protect your banking

We’re committed to helping protect you and your money from scams and fraud.

Visa Secure

Visa Secure helps protect you against unauthorised use of your Visa Debit Card online. It works automatically most of the time, but sometimes you will be sent a Verification Code via Bank Mail, which you’ll need to enter to continue with your online transaction.

Fraud monitoring systems

Our fraud monitoring systems allow us to identify potentially fraudulent activity on your accounts. If we suspect fraudulent activity, we’ll contact you and may temporarily block your cards in order to prevent further fraudulent transactions.

Two-factor authentication

Two factor authentication is an added security feature comprising two additional steps in the log in process for ANZ Internet Banking.

Encryption

Encryption is turning words and numbers into a coded language. Encryption prevents unauthorised users from being able to change or read your data.

Firewalls

ANZ uses a Firewall to prevent unauthorised access to and from the network. A Firewall acts as a barrier between your computer and the internet. This helps ensure that only authorised data enters and leaves your computer.

Automatic time-outs

To keep your ANZ Internet Banking and ANZ Pacific App experience secure, our system will automatically log you out of your banking session if it's left unattended. This will happen after 5 minutes of inactivity in the ANZ Pacific App and 15 minutes in ANZ Internet Banking.
