The Australian Federal Government is estimating a $A27.6 billion deficit in 2024-25. Looking ahead to 2025–26, there is a forecast deficit of $A42.1 billion. Deficits are forecast until the middle of next decade. 

There will be new tax cuts, with gross domestic product growth to pick up and the unemployment rate to remain around 4.25 per cent for the next few years.
