Who is eligible for ANZ Travel Insurance?

ANZ Travel Insurance is available for Australian residents only.

When would I need to complete a Travellers Medical Appraisal Form?

A Travellers Medical Appraisal Form would need to be completed if you apply for an:

  • International Travel Plan and are 70 years of age or over, or you have an existing medical condition that is not automatically covered regardless of your age, or
  • Australian Travel Plan and require cover for an existing medical condition.
When should I purchase my travel insurance policy?

We recommend that you purchase travel insurance immediately after you pay for or confirm your travel arrangements. Cover for cancellation of your journey and the loss of deposits is in place immediately after your policy is purchased and is not subject to your dates of travel.

What cover do I get for my luggage outside Australia?

Total coverage of $15,000 is offered for singles policies and $30,000 for doubles policies in the event that your luggage is lost or stolen while travelling outside of Australia. Please refer to the ANZ Travel Insurance Product Disclosure Statement (PDF 1MB) for item limits and exclusions.

What type of medical coverage would I receive outside Australia?

Coverage extends to medical, hospital and ambulance expenses you incur as a result of an illness, injury or death or dental treatment expenses you incur as a result of an injury to your teeth that you suffer while you are overseas.

Are rental vehicle excesses covered under ANZ Travel Insurance?

Yes, we cover up to $3,000 on Australian travel plan and up to $5,000 on the International travel plan. We will also pay up to $750 towards the costs of returning your rental vehicle to the nearest depot, if due to a claimable event you are not able to.
